I went to see Arctic Monkeys live at Budokan on October 19th.

As you know The strokes initiated a new era of rock music, Arctic Monkeys also did that.

So I was really glad to see them. It seemed to be a dream.

I got mobbed because I was in the front row.

Especially from Brianstorm to The View From The Afternoon, the voltage of the audiences was really crazy.

I thought in this live, Alex showed earnestness for the music and audiences.

He said "You play nice, I also..." or "fabulous audience" like communicate with us.

And I felt Arctic Monkeys started to acquire kind of Eros or Energy or something like that.

And I also found one more thing from that live.

I used to like to listen to their up-tempo tunes but this live made me find the fact that low-tempo tunes are also super nice.

When I listened to Humbug using an iPod I thought I preferred 1st and 2nd.

But now Humbug became my precious album and I also found If You Were There,Beware and 505 are really good.

If they come to Tokyo again, I will definitely go to see their live.

Live at Budokan was really fantastic experience.

久しぶりの更新です。

19日にアークティックモンキーズのライブに行ってきました。

ストロークスと同様ロックの新しい可能性を提示してくれたバンドで、生で見られるなんて夢のようでした。

アリーナのEブロック最前列だったので序盤もみくちゃにされている感じで、特にBrianstormからThe View From The Afternoonまでがやばかった。

今回のライブ、アレックスの音楽や観客に対する真摯な姿勢のようなものが表れていたと思います。

”You play nice, I also...” 「君たちいいノリしてるね。じゃ俺も（頑張ろう）」

"fabulous audience"「素晴らしい観客だね。」

などと言って観客とコミュニケートしようとしていたし、演奏も最高だった。このバンドからは何か特別なオーラというかエロスみたいなものが出始めていると感じました。

そしてこのライブの収穫はもう一つあって、僕はアークティックのいわゆる攻撃的な曲が好きだったんですが、今回生で体験して、走ってない曲のよさに気づくことができました。

Humbugもipodで聴いてる段階では「やっぱ1stと2ndだよな」とか思っていたのですが、このライブを体験したことでHumbugが僕の中ですごく大切なアルバムになったし、2ndのIf You Were There,Bewareや505がものすごく心に響く曲だということにも気づきました。

また日本に来る機会があったら必ず見に行こうと思います。

I found a movie in which Arctic Monkeys cover "Take it or leave it" of The Strokes.

アークティックモンキーズ関連でもう一つ。

彼らがストロークスのtake it or leave itをカバーしている動画です。

ちなみに本物はこちら。

By comparison, this is The Strokes. 

As for this song, I prefer The Strokes version.

I think what makes The Strokes impressive is kind of oppression and Arctic Monkeys don't have it.

But I think this difference is very interesting because Arctic Monkeys said that they were infected by The Strokes.

They were infected but they found own style.

That's why.

この曲に関してはやはりストロークスの方が好きですね。

アークティックモンキーズには気だるさがないからちょっとストロークスの曲には合ってないと思います。

しかしアークティックモンキーズはストロークスのガレージロックリバイバルの影響（だけではないようですが）を受けて出てきたバンドですが、このテイストの違いが生まれていることが意味があることなんだなぁとふと思いました。

影響されてそれを変化させてという循環で新しいものは生まれてくるという当たり前なことを考えてしまいました。

Arctic Monkeys is coming to Tokyo

Arctic Monkeys is gonna release a new album "Humbug" on August 24th.

And They are coming to Tokyo and having a gig at the Budokan on October 19th.

I hope it's gonna be like Glastonbury Festival 2007.

そして10/19に武道館でライブやるらしいです。

2007年のグラストンベリーみたいな盛り上がりになるといいですね。

I was so impressed by Ryoji Ikeda exhibition "＋/－[the infinite between 0 and 1]" so I bought his album "dataplex" at the museum because of the nice jacket.

This album is super minimal music.

pu,pu,pupupupupup.......... like that.

It consists of the smallest sound like noise. But it's not just noise, it contains rhythm in the song itself at the same time.

It's like stimulus rather than music.

Your brain is gonna get a massage.

池田亮司展＋/－[the infinite between 0 and 1]が非常によかったので、dataplexをジャケ買いしました。

このCDはスーパーミニマルです。

プツッ、プツッ、プツプツプツプツ、、、、、

と、ノイズのような、文字通り最小限の音で構成されているのですが、それがリズムを伴うことで曲としてしっかり成立している。

音楽っていうより刺激に近いかも。

脳を波動でマッサージしているような。

是非聴いてみて下さい。

ZNR is the rock unit that HECTOR ZAZOU and JOSEPH RACAILL started in 1975 and this album is the first one.

It is a little old but the sound is really avant-garde even now.

Beautiful music.

I'm sure this album must be avant-garde even one hundred years later.
